Does Website Design Include Hosting and Maintenance?
Website design does not always include hosting and maintenance in the build price. At Evergreen, the website build is a one-time charge, while hosting and management is a separate month-to-month service starting at $75 per month.
The build and the upkeep do different jobs.
The build creates your website: its layout, original copywriting, service information, contact paths, and foundational search setup. Hosting keeps the finished website available online. Ongoing management gives you someone to contact when existing content needs attention.
When comparing proposals, ask which costs are one-time, which recur monthly, and what the ongoing service actually covers. A low build price does not tell you the full cost of keeping the site running.
What does Evergreen charge each month?
Standard and Growth websites have hosting and management at $75 per month. Premium is $100 per month. All three are month to month and include up to two hours of minor edits monthly.
The website build itself is $2,000 for Standard, $3,500 for Growth, or $5,000 for Premium. See our contractor website cost guide for page allowances and included build features.
What counts as a minor edit?
Minor edits are small changes to existing content, such as updating contact information, adjusting wording, replacing a photo, or changing business hours. Send the requested changes and we can confirm whether they fit within your monthly allowance.
New pages, a substantial redesign, and larger changes are quoted separately. If a request goes beyond a minor update, we discuss the scope and price before adding the work.
Does management include ongoing SEO?
Foundational SEO is included with the original website build. That covers the agreed page setup, including page titles, descriptions, and structure. Ongoing SEO is separate work based on your services, market, and search data.
Monthly hosting is not an ongoing SEO campaign. Likewise, CRM tools and automated follow-up are separate services. Our optional $25 per month inquiry notification add-on texts submission details to the contractor; it does not automatically filter spam.
Who owns the website and domain?
You own your website and domain. We build in Duda, so any future transfer follows the applicable platform and account process. Ownership does not remove the need for hosting, domain renewal, or the platform used to run the site.
Domain registration or renewal is separate from the website build and monthly management price. If you already have a domain, tell us where it is registered so we can plan the launch setup.
What should I check before signing up?
Ask what monthly support includes, how edits are requested, what happens when a change exceeds the allowance, and which services cost extra. Confirm who owns the domain and what would be involved in moving the website later.
We explain those details before starting. You can review our contractor website design service and ask us to help choose the scope your business needs.
